This Privacy Policy explains what happens to any personal data that you provide to me, or that is collected from you whilst you visit the site.

Information I Definitely Collect

In providing website services to you I collect and process the following personal data about you or the company you represent:

  • Your name
  • Business name
  • Business address
  • Phone number
  • Email address

This information will be kept for as long as you remain a client, for the purposing of invoicing and communication.

I do not share this data with any third parties. I do not run any types of remarketing adverts on Facebook or any other paid social media platforms.

Information I Might Collect

Depending on how you prefer to be contacted it may be necessary to collect and process the following:

  • Home address

If you leave a public comment on any of my blog posts here on the website, I’ll have access to the following:

  • Name (if you provide it)
  • Email address
  • IP address

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it.

The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Information I Do Not Collect

If you’re using the secure PayPal Direct Debit SSL system to make purchases, please be aware I do not have access to any card details.

I do not collect any “sensitive” information as defined by the ICO about any of the following:

  • Race
  • Ethnic origin
  • Politics
  • Religion
  • Trade union membership
  • Genetics
  • Biometrics (where used for ID purposes)
  • Health
  • Sex life
  • Sexual orientation

Use of Your Information

I use the information that I collect from you to provide services to you, in the legitimate interests of running my business and fulfilling contracts with you. 

I use your information for the following purposes:

  1. To bill/invoice you.
  2. To provide information to you by email subscription that you request from me relating to industry information.
  3. To inform you of any important information relating to a project, product or service I have previously provided to you.

Storing Your Personal Data

In operating our website it may become necessary to transfer data that I collect from you to locations outside of the European Union for processing and storing, (example, my email subscription list).

I do my upmost to ensure all reasonable steps are taken to make sure your data is treated and stored securely.

Unfortunately the sending of information via the internet is not totally secure and on occasion, such information can be intercepted.

Though this has never happened I cannot guarantee the security of data that you choose to send electronically.

Sending such information is entirely at your own risk.

Storing Comment Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

MailChimp Data Storage

I transfer your consensually given email subscription list data to locations outside of the European Union for processing and storing. MailChimp’s servers are based in the United States.

If you haven’t opted into my email subscription list, this is of no concern to you.

Email Data Storage

If you communicate with me via email, your email address and any details you provide will be stored on GoDaddy’s Office365 email servers, located outside of the European Union.

Disclosing Your Information

I will not disclose your personal information to any other party other than in the circumstances detailed below:

  1. Where I am legally required by law to disclose your personal information
  2. Where I am setting up your webhosting, URL, email or any other services you have asked me to assist with
  3. Where we outsource services to a contractor and need to pass on any details for the fulfilment of the contract

On occasion, I include links to third parties on this website.

Where I provide a link it does not mean I endorse or approve that site’s policy towards visitor privacy.

You should review their privacy policy before sending them any personal data.

Use of Cookies On Your Device

Cookies provide information about the website session activity of a visitor.

You can adjust the settings on your computer to decline any cookies if you wish. This can easily be done by activating the “reject cookies” settings in your internet browser of choice.

Google Analytics Cookies

I use Google Analytics cookies to gather information in order to assist in improving the website experience for you.

It is statistical data. This statistical data does not identify any personal details whatsoever.

I may gather information about your general internet use from the cookie but I will have no idea that is you and you will not be identified. 

Where used, these Analytics cookies are downloaded to your computer and stored on the computer’s hard drive. Such information will not identify you personally.

MailChimp Cookies

I run a mailing list by MailChimp. If you subscribe to this mailing list and receive an email from myself, the way you interact with the email (whether opening the email or clicking any links within the email) will be recorded and presented to me as performance and analytics data.

I will know whether you personally regularly open emails or have never opened emails.

YouTube Cookies

I use YouTube embedded videos on my website and this will place a cookie on your device.

Twitter Cookies

I embed Twitter timelines, buttons and link to tweets on my website which will place cookies on your device. Clicking on these Twitter embeds may influence the suggested content and advertising you see on the Twitter website.

Soundcloud Cookies

I embed Soundcloud clips to my website which include cookies.

Access to Information

Under GDPR you have the right to access any information I hold about or relating to you free of charge within one calendar month except when the request is unfounded, excessive, or repetitive, in which case an admin fee may be charged and the deadline extended by two months, with prior notice.
